21, 2023, the Organic Law of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coronellylam.com\/en\/service\/procedures-at-the-colon-free-zone\/\">Colon Free Zone<\/a> was reformed.<\/p>\n<h2>Objectives of the Law:<\/h2>\n<h3>Equalization of Incentives:<\/h3>\n<p>The purpose of the Law is to equalize in the CFZ those incentives that currently coexist in the different special regimes of the country.<\/p>\n<h3>Inclusion of New Activities and Services:<\/h3>\n<p>The offer of services has been expanded to meet the economic needs of both companies using the CFZ and their potential customers.<\/p>\n<h2>New Activities Incorporated:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Nearshoring<\/li>\n<li>Supply and Inventory Management<\/li>\n<li>Provision of Real Estate Services and\/or Property Management<\/li>\n<li>Incorporation of High Technology Based Manufacturing Models<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Tax Benefits for CFZ Users:<\/h2>\n<h3>Income Tax Exemption:<\/h3>\n<p>On income derived from activities allowed under the regime, provided that the income is produced outside the national territory.<\/p>\n<h3>Exemption from the Tax on the Transfer of Movable Goods and the Rendering of Services:<\/h3>\n<p>Applicable to the users of the CFZ, with respect to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Merchandise, products, equipment, goods, services and other goods in general introduced into the CFZ and whose final destination is abroad.<\/li>\n<li>Services rendered by the users of the CFZ to natural or juridical persons established inside or outside Panama.<\/li>\n<li>Services received by the users of the CFZ, except for the exceptions set forth in the Tax Code.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Exoneration of the Stamp Tax.<\/h2>\n<h2>Exoneration on Commercial and Industrial Improvements:<\/h2>\n<p>Includes the real estate tax on land and improvements, as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coronellylam.com\/en\/?post_type=case_study&#038;p=4015\">real estate<\/a> transfer tax.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][tm_image action=&#8221;popup&#8221; image=&#8221;4335&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>Exoneration of Complementary Tax:<\/h2>\n<p>On the profits generated, with the exception of logistic and multimodal services that do not generate any transformation, which will pay the tax at the rate of 2% on the profits generated.<\/p>\n<h2>Exemption from Selective Consumption Tax:<\/h2>\n<p>Excludes land vehicles acquired under benefits granted by any law exempting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coronellylam.com\/en\/service\/integrated-customs-management-system-procedure\/\">import tax<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Exemption from Tax on the Sale or Transfer of Shares:<\/h2>\n<p>Of user companies of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coronellylam.com\/en\/service\/procedures-at-the-colon-free-zone\/\">Colon Free Zone<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Exemption of the Tax on Capital Gains Generated from
